ICA continues mission of transformation through assisting community efforts
to transform the lives of its citizens
ATLANTA, GA / NASHVILLE, TN – March 21, 2011 – Informatics Corporation of America (ICA, www.icainformatics.com) and MUST Ministries (www.mustministries.org) announced today that a charitable donation of $2,000 was made in the name of Georgia Hospital Association’s executive vice president, Glenn Pearson, to continue MUST Ministries’ mission of transforming lives within the greater Atlanta area.
During the annual HIMSS 2011 education and exhibition for health information technology professionals, Feb. 20-24, 2011, at the Orlando Convention Center, ICA made the donation through a drawing in which the winner chose a charity whose mission was in keeping with the company’s pursuit of transforming the lives of citizens within its community. Pearson, the winner of the drawing, was at the MUST Ministries Center with officials representing ICA for the check presentation. Rev. John Moeller, Jr., president and CEO, and Lane Henderson, corporate relations, accepted the check on behalf of MUST Ministries.
MUST Ministries provides food, clothing, housing, healthcare, children’s services and, most importantly, educational resources to enable those less fortunate to sustain, learn and gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to re-enter the workforce and become self sufficient. They operate multiple centers throughout the greater Atlanta area in Cobb and Cherokee counties in their mission to “serve our neighbors in need, transforming lives in response to Christ’s call.”
“Without the help of corporate donations and the generosity of individual citizen’s time and treasure, MUST Ministries would not be able to continue to sustain and grow the services required by a growing number of those in need,” said Rev. Moeller. “Receiving a donation from ICA, whose mission incorporates the same transformative message MUST Ministries supports, is especially appreciated.”
Pearson comments, “I believe that ICA’s efforts to reflect its mission through this kind of a donation is unique within the industry and I’m proud to be a part of supporting MUST Ministries. I have recognized MUST’s contribution to the area for some time and immediately decided to name them as the recipient of this donation.”
John Tempesco, chief marketing officer, ICA, says, “ICA provides a technology infrastructure to exchange healthcare information between hospitals, physicians and ancillary providers throughout a healthcare system, community or state, with added clinical depth that allows for the transformation of healthcare as an end-result. Our mission is to not simply bring technology to our clients, but to help them transform healthcare delivery so that outcomes and health status improve. ICA also provides its health information exchange solution to one of MUST Ministries’ other corporate partners, WellStar Health System, within the Atlanta area. This makes the selection of MUST Ministries as the recipient of our donation even more special.”
